October 19th, 2011On September 24th Clemson Paintball played its first tournament of the season, the MSCC Opener at PBC Greenville in Greenville, South Carolina. Despite a slow start, Clemson managed to rally back from an early deficit, winning 5 straight points, and taking the 3rd seed out of Preliminary Matches. Matched against Western Kentucky in the playoffs, Clemson fell down 0-1 in the Race-to-2 and then rallied in the second point to eliminate all 5 Kentucky members, but the point was declared a tie after a Clemson player did not get checked by a referee before leaving the field, resulting in the point being declared a no-contest, and was replayed. In the replay point, Clemson faltered and fell to WKU 0-2, ultimately taking 5th place out of 14 teams. Clemson is now preparing for their next tournament, the Liberty Open on November 5th.
